Improvements needed on tables

When dragging a column in a table to make it larger, it disappears and does not take up all the space in a note or insight. You have to scroll to see the entirety of its contents.

Yes, the table experience, especially in notes, is not great. I can barely use a three column table, and that is with the data scrunched. Even worse, to get extra room I might try to resize the inner cells, which moves the right cell over to the left. Trying to re-expand that right cell to the end of the page is some sort of russian-roulette maneuver where I'm not sure if it's going to go off the page. Once it does, there is no way to move it back. I have to Control-Z.

Really the issue is in trying to read any table that expands off the screen both horizontally and vertically. If you set up a table with content that does that and try to read the information in, I think you will understand the problem. If not, I'm happy to jump on a five minute call to show you an example.

Tables eek! eck!

The table experience in Dovetail is horrendous. If your table doesn't fit horizontally and vertically on the screen (more likely if you use a zoomed in view so you can read things like I do), then you have to scroll down in the web browser to scroll horizontally and then scroll up to see the columns on the right but then if you forgot what the first column on that rows says you've got to scroll down to scroll left and do it all over again all the way up and down the table.

Thank you for posting, Jocelyn Smith! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details about the specific issues you're experiencing with the table view? For example, are there specific features or functionalities that you find particularly challenging?
- Could you describe how you typically use the table view? Understanding your workflow could help us improve the feature.
- Are there any other platforms or software where you've had a positive experience with a similar table view feature? If so, could you describe what you liked about it?

Pat Barlow I haven't replied sooner because I'm not sure what isn't clear.
I'm in Firefox. I have my text slightly bigger than default on the web. But honestly, I don't think it makes a difference.
If you have any real table (not a little test one), it's not possible to see the table all at once. For some reason, I'm only allowed to use like the middle third of my screen so the available space is limited. But also there's no way to move left or right while reading the current row. The horizontal screen for the table is at the bottom of the table. I need to move my page to the bottom of the table to move to the right and go back up the page to read. And now I'm lost. I'm attaching here an image which is even more insane. I've copied a table from confluence so the columns are wide. I literally cannot even read the content in one column. I can put the curser in it but when I move all the way to the right, the table does not move.

Hiya Apoorva Mittal, thanks for sharing with us! Following up on this:
- Can you provide more details about the specific scenarios where you encounter this issue?
- Are there specific types of data or specific table sizes where this issue is more prevalent?
- Have you noticed any patterns or specific steps that lead to this issue?
