Create table of contents for insights and notes

Add the option to create a table of contents which includes all headers from my insights. This would allow stakeholders to quickly see the smaller trends at a glance, and jump to relevant sections.

I want to link within a document so that when I click a link I can leap to the relevant bit without having to scroll.

Side navigation in insights and notes

It would be great to have a side navigation in insights and notes that shows the different headers. And to be able to click on them to jump to that section of the document. Similar to what google docs has.

Table of Contents in Insights

Add the option to create a table of contents based on H1/H2/H3 content in Insights body that can be toggled on/off (similar to google docs, on the side rather than at the top of the insight as that would get lost once the user scrolls down).

Thank you for posting, Sofya Bourne! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on how you envision the interaction with the table of contents? For example, should it follow the user as they scroll or remain static?
- Would you like the table of contents to be collapsible or always visible when toggled on?
- Are there any specific features from the Google Docs table of contents that you would like to see implemented in our Insights?

Totally agree on this, my only solution currently is to tag my stakeholders in comments, however, it does not solve the problem.
My reports are typically long, and it's a hustle to keep scrolling.

Table of contents for notes

My team often creates notes for large bodies of text, such as research plans and interview notes. It would be helpful if we could add a linked table of contents (perhaps based on the headers) to be able to click on an item and be able to skip ahead to it.
There are many times where our notes are so massive, it is difficult to read through them. This is especially cumbersome when we would like for stakeholders to read a particular part of a note, and not expect them to skim through the entire note to find the right section to review.

Came here to say exactly this!! I like the way they approach this feature in Confluence (for reference) - my insights report is very long and it's a drag to have to scroll through the whole document to find one specific seciton.

Anchors in reports

I wish that I could put anchors to headings in reports so I could link to them in other reports, especially when those reports are long. It could also be helpful for creating appendices or table of content type material.

I believe this is the the same as the one about 'anchors in reports' Pat Barlow

Thanks Faidon! Yep, I've merged these two posts as they'd likely go hand in hand 😊
