It would be a huge improvement if there were

resizeable containers on Canvas OR

the ability to toggle tag truncation off/on

when it's off, the tag will modify the card container size, so long tags will force the card to be really wide

we have this behavior for really long highlights which extend the container vertically (with an expand/collapse toggle)
